THE EVERGLADES OR "AL CAPONE" SUITE (right): The "Campanile Tower", as the hotel's majestic Giralda tower was called in the thirties, is the most prestigious part of the hotel. The Biltmore's Giralda tower is a replica of the Giralda Tower in the Cathedral of Seville, Spain. The Royal Penthouse suite, now known as the Everglades suite or "Al Capone" suite, was reserved for first-class dignitaries because of its view and luxurious accommodations.
Celebrities such as President Calvin Coolidge, Eddie Rickenbacker, Douglas Fairbanks, Cornelius Vanderbilt, Jr., the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and, of course, the famous Al Capone all stayed in this magnificent room. Today, the suite continues to play home to world famous, renowned visitors like Former President Clinton; Former President Menem of Argentina; Robert Redford; Lauren Bacall; Gloria Vanderbilt, and Former First Lady Barbara Bush.
